On December 4, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon presented to Member States his “Synthesis Report on the Post-2015 Agenda,” the highly anticipated 47-page report detailing the full range of inputs that will contribute to the upcoming year’s intergovernmental negotiations, culminating with the adoption of the agenda in September 2015.

The World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) condemns the recent acts of terror committed by the group known as the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

NEW YORK - The Friends of WFUNA Board of Directors convened for its 21st board meeting on Wednesday, October 15. We are happy to announce that Ms. Marilyn Haft, who served as Interim President since April 2014, is now serving as President of the board. Ambassador vanden Heuvel, who served as President of the board since 2001, stepped down from his role in April 2014 but has stayed on as a director. We are grateful for Ambassador vanden Heuvel's stewardship over the years and welcome Ms.

GENEVA -- From 15 - 19 September 2014, we welcomed eight UNA members from Australia, Belgium, Nepal, Norway, South Africa, Switzerland, and Zimbabwe for the fourth session of Civil Society in Action for Human Rights. From attending sessions of the UN Human Rights Council to workshops featuring OHCHR or NGO speakers, the enthusiastic group took advantage of the busy week to learn new advocacy strategies and refine their human rights projects. SEOUL -- The completion ceremony for this year's WFUNA Supporters: Korea was held on 30 August in Seoul. Certificates were handed out to all 11 supporters while Jun Kyung Lee from Konkuk University and Yoo Na Bae from Sungkyunkwan University received the Outstanding Supporter Award respectively. Min Ji Kim from Yonsei University was awarded the Best Supporter.

NEW YORK – For three straight weeks in July and August, we welcomed education partners for both the Training Program and the Advanced Training Program at the United Nations. Students took part in sessions from UN officials, diplomats, and representatives from civil society. In addition, participants learned skills in project management, public speaking, problem solving, and critical thinking.
