In a much-lauded move towards transparency and accountability at the UN, the Office of the President of the General Assembly is hosting interactive dialogue sessions with prospective UN Secretary General candidates from Tuesday 12th until Thursday 14th April 2016. The eight current candidates, including current UNDP Administrator Ms. Helen Clark, the Director of UNESCO Ms. Irina Bokova, and the ex-President of Slovenia Dr. Danilo Turk, will present their vision for a United Nations under their stewardship. Through the UN Non-Governmental Liaison Service, civil society representatives from around the world were able to submit questions for each candidate.

WFUNA, and other member United Nations Associations, are proud to be a part of a much needed movement, through civil society-led initiatives such as the 1 for 7 billion campaign, to push for UN reform in such a vital area.
