Through our annual UNA Youth Human Rights Trainings, WFUNA aims to empower UNA youth members to take a leading role in upholding human rights in their communities and around the world. The four-day training includes intensive tutoring, discussions with key human rights actors and provides instructions on how to follow up on education activities to be carried out by participants with the support of the UNAs.

Meet some of this year's participants.

Linda Asaba Awebwa

UNA: Uganda

Age: 25

On her experience of the trainings: "I learned a lot about the UN and that it is easier to push your objectives if you go through the right paths. I also like that there are NGOs who are actually looking forward to having young people push the agenda of human rights."

Francesca Chiaudani

UNA: United Kingdom

Age: 23

About her project: Francesca is working on organizing a human rights seminar for local high school students. She is also planning to develop a mobile phone application intended to reach a wider public to sensitize them about human rights issues.

Albert Askeljung

UNA: Sweden

Age: 21

About his project: "I think education is among the most important parts in a democratic society. For this reason I want to implement a project which aims to educate young school children in human rights. The earlier children are taught about the human rights, the more obvious it will be for these individuals to fight for these rights"
