Youth, Peace and Security

The World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) is a global nonprofit organization representing and coordinating a membership of over 100 national United Nations Associations.

Youth, Peace and Security 

In December 2015, the Security Council passed the groundbreaking resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security recognizing the important and positive contribution of youth in efforts for the maintenance and promotion of peace and security. The resolution affirmed the important role youth can play in the prevention and resolution of conflicts and as a key aspect of the sustainability, inclusiveness and success of peacekeeping and peacebuilding efforts. 

WFUNA is an active member of the Inter-Agency Working Group (IAWG) on Youth and Peacebuilding, which comprises of civil society organizations from around the world and relevant UN agencies. WFUNA co-chairs the IAWG Advocacy and Lobbying Taskforce and actively engages Youth networks to promote an inclusive approach.
