We had the opportunity to participate in an ECOSOC interactive dialogue for youth on youth unemployement. 28 February 

Five of our youth representatives from UNAs in Latin America joined our R2P Program Officer in Caracas, Venezuela, to not only participate in, but host and facilitate the Third Dag Hammarskjold Symposium. The symposium was held in collaboration with the UN Association of Venezuela and the Embassy of Sweden in Bogota, Colombia, responsible for Venezuela and Colombia. 

We asked these youth representatives from UNA-Venezuela, UNA-Colombia, and UNA-Mexico to share their experiences and thoughts on R2P. More stories coming soon!

Surprise calendar from Deport-es para Compartir, UNYA-Mexico!8 February

We received a fun surprise in our office today from our friends at UNYA-Mexico! They sent us a calendar for 2012 from their Deport-es para Compartir program (Sports for Sharing), a great educational program that teaches children how to become better citizens.

The WFUNA Youth Network attended the launch of the 2011 World Youth Report focusing on the issue of youth and employment on Monday, 6 February, at UN Headquarters in New York, New York. The overarching theme of the report launch on youth and employment stressed the importance of including youth in the actual report, as well as their experiences, in looking for employment or internships. Panelists at the launch ranged from youth contributors, mission staff, and UN agencies. Read more
