UNAS Youth Section

The United Nations Association of Slovenia (UNAS) was established in 1951, supporting the United Nations (UN) in its role as a keeper of global peace and stability. The main objective of UNAS – already formulated in 1951 – is to inform the public about the ideas, goals and activities of the UN. In 2011, UNAS Youth Section was established with the aim of encouraging youth interest in global issues, broadening youth knowledge of UN, its activities, goals and principles, encouraging youth participation and active citizenship, enabling the youth to take part in informal education, encouraging youth voluntarism, supporting research activities of the youth in the field of UN, and cooperating with other organizations and associations at home and abroad. In 2012, as part of the UNAS Youth Section the Model United Nations Slovenia Club was established.
