UNA-Argentina includes the issue of climate change in their education programs. They have launched the web blog to inform the public about the issues related to their work, with special attention on climate change and corporate social responsibility and to create a platform for exchanging ideas and opinions.

On 4-5 April 2008, Canberra hosted the first Switch to Green Expo and Conference (www.switchtogreen.unaa.org.au) at the National Convention Centre co-convened by the United Nations Association of Australia (ACT), the ACT Government, Canberra Business Council, Australian Conservation Foundation and Conservation Council of the South East.
The Switch to Green Conference explored how individuals, industry and governments can act now to reduce carbon emissions as well as focussing on building community support for collective action to avoid dangerous climate change. The parallel Expo and Conference showcased practical, available technology to reduce carbon emissions at home and at work

UNA-Bolivia
UNA-Bolivia is currently organising a Climate Change conference under the auspices of the government of Bolivia and the University of Franz Tamayo.
On 1 May 2008 UNA-Brazil held the Sustainable Development Forum which took place in New York, to raise awareness of the seventh and eighth Millennium Development Goals, namely, ensuring environmental sustainability and developing a global partnership for development. Among the speakers was former President Bill Clinton.

UNA-Cameroon is currently planning an awareness campaign that will culminate in a national workshop on Cameroon post-Bali climate change policy, with participants from government, private corporation, the UN system, scientists, civil society, academia, consultancies, parliamentary, think-thanks, NGOs, the media and even artists. They will also highlight the issue of climate change at college levels with educative talks.
UNA-China is planning an international seminar focusing on environmental protection.
UNA-DRC is currently participating in WFUNA’s project “Climate Change and the UN System”.
Una-Cuba is currently participating in WFUNA's project "Climate Change and the UN System".
The Irish UNA is carrying out a national information campaign on the climate change issue and the developments from the Bali conference. IUNA is trying to act as a co-coordinating body for Irish NGO's that are engaged in environmental action and are concerned with the outcomes of the Bali conference.
UNA-Macedonia started a project, financed with EU funds, to educate children in primary school on climate changes issues.
UNAM also participated in WFUNA’s project “Climate Change and the UN System”.
UNANZ hosted a climate change group meeting on 2 June 2008 in conjunction with itsnational conference, just before the World Environment Day official launch in Wellington. Information for both events can be found at: www.unanz.org.nz

Courses
Globalis

Globalis is the name of UNA-Norway’s interactive world maps (www.globalis.no) where important UN statistics on the MDGs, environmental issues, peace and security etc are visualised and made available. In 2007, resources on climate change and environmental issues have been developed. In 2008, another 10 interactive maps, more satellite pictures, statistics and country profiles with environmental information will be added to Globalis. In addition to this, a survey of international climate agreements and thematic pages on climate change will be added together with a considerable amount of complementary teaching resources.

More thematic pages and teaching resources related to climate change and environmental issues will be developed in the course of 2008, as well as teaching materials in English to be used by schools in Norway, Tanzania and Uganda.

UNA Norway’s cartoon mascot (FN-filuren)

The mascot has his own web page (www.fn-filuren.no) where children (up to the age of 10) can learn about the MDGs and Climate Change by helping Filuren solve a variety of interactive tasks.

A colouring book has been produced with drawings of Filuren in situations which show various aspects of climate change and environmental protection.

Filuren will visit kindergartens all over Norway to tell children about the MDGs and climate change.
Roleplay

UNA-Norway’s member schools are invited to take part in a round of the Internet-based roleplay Global Island on 21 October. The students play the roles of Members of Parliament in five countries, and they are faced with a dilemma or an issue which they will have to argue against or in favour of. This year’s round will have either protection of the rainforest or human rights (freedom of speech) as its topic. The roleplay will have participants from secondary and upper secondary schools all over Norway, as well as from Uganda and Tanzania.
UNA-Korea participated in WFUNA’s project “Climate Change and the UN System”.
UNA-Spain is planning to undertake a program of events on climate change in coordination with the governments of the Balearic Islands in Majorca. They will specifically consider what is being done and what remains to be done for a balance between the economic development of tourist areas and the preservation of the environment, particularly in areas important to the tourist industry as the Balearic Islands and Catalonia, in Spain.
UNA-Sudan is participating in WFUNA’s project “Climate Change and the UN System”. It organised the conference of the United Nations Associations of the Great Lakes Region of Africa in April. One of the objectives of the conference was to activate the role of African UNAs in enhancing efforts for sustainable development as well as the well-being of their peoples.

UNA-Togo participated in WFUNA’s project “Climate Change and the UN System”.
UNA-Uganda
From October 2007 until March 2008 UNA-Uganda carried out a tree-planting campaign in school and universities in and outside Kampala. The theme for the launch day on the 24th of October was "Our Planet, Our Future".
During 2008 UNA-UK is hosting a series of climate change conferences in major cities around the UK. Theses conferences will be dual focused: showcasing the UN’s role in curbing climate change, and discussing what actions to take to ensure climate sustainability. UNA-UK will continue to cooperate with other civil society organizations in the country through their membership in Stop Climate Chaos’, whose aim is to push the government to take significant steps at home and abroad in order to keep global warming under control.
UNA-UK’s Young Professional Network will continue its program of events on business and the MDGs, including the contribution of the private sector to address the challenges of climate change.
