The Friends of WFUNA is a Foundation to support the purposes of WFUNA.
The Foundation provides a high standard of fiduciary assurances and the capacity to operate with minimal overhead costs.
The Foundation allows US citizens or companies to make tax-deductible contributions to WFUNA. It may receive funds from anywhere in the world.
Similar Foundations to support the purposes of WFUNA could be set up in other countries.

The Foundation has been endowed by a major initial contribution from Arthur Ross.
Each year the Friends of WFUNA holds a luncheon to honor individuals for their leadership and long-time support of the United Nations.
 Friends of WFUNA Luncheon 2009 honoring: Gillian Sorensen
Over 100 hundred people attended the annual Friends of WFUNA luncheon, held at the UN Delegates Dining Room on Wednesday, May 20th. Gillian Sorensen, National Advocate for the UN Foundation, was the honoree. The event was co-hosted by Mrs. Arthur Ross, Mr. Louis Perlmutter and Ambassador William J. vanden Heuvel.
Highlights of the occasion were messages from both Kofi Annan and Ban Ki-moon and tributes to Gillian from a wide range of people who have appreciated her outstanding work for the United Nations.

 2008 - Luncheon honoring Ambassador William J. vanden Heuvel
Dr Hans Blix, President, World Federation of United Nations Associations hosted the annual WFUNA benefit luncheon on Wednesday 9 April 2008. The honoree was Ambassador William J. vanden Heuvel, President of the Friends of WFUNA. Gillian Sorensen and Steve Schlesinger gave short speeches and a power point presentation of tributes to the Ambassador was shown. The President of UNA-Russia, Amb Torkunov, paid a special tribute.

 2004 - WFUNA Honor John C. Whitehead
The Friends of WFUNA honored Mr. John C. Whitehead for his leadership and long-time support of the United Nationsin a luncheon on December 8th, 2004 at UN Headquarters. WFUNA Secretary-General, James B. Sitrick, was joined by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy to honor John C. Whitehead. In his acceptance speech, Mr Whitehead, who is universally respected as one of the great public figures of the United States, said that "It is now time to reappraise the significance of our strong Superpower status and use it more effectively to achieve a more peaceful and a more stable world."
Members of the Board of Directors of the Friends of WFUNA were in attendance, notably Arthur and Janet Ross and their son Alfred Ross, Amb.Donald Blinken, Amb.Robin Duke, Mr Louis Perlmutter and Ted and Gillian Sorensen. Guests included Permanent Representatives to the UN, including, Prince Zeid Ra'ad Zeid Al-Hussein of Jordan, Amb William Luers, President and CEO of UNA-USA, and senior offices of the UN Secretariat, including Mr Shashi Tharoor, Mrs Catherine Bertini, Sir Kieran Prendergast, Patricia Durrant, Olara Otunnu and Bruce Rashkow.
The UN News and Media Division filmed the proceedings and fed the footage out to all media networks affiliated with the UN in the afternoon. Media representatives at the event included Warren Hoge of the New York Times, Richard Roth of CNN, and Morley Safer of "60 Minutes" of CBS.

 2003 - WFUNA Honors Robin Duke and Louis Perlmutter
The Friends of the WFUNA honored Ambassador Robin Duke and Mr. Louis Perlmutter for their leadership and long-time support of the United Nations. The luncheon was held from on Thursday, December 4th, 2003, in the Delegates Dining Room at UN Headquarters. H.R.H. Prince Zeid Ra'ad Zeid Al-Hussein, Permanent Representative of Jordan to the United Nations was the key note speaker. Read more >>
 2002 - Luncheon Honoring Arthur Ross
On Thursday, November 7th, 2002 WFUNA honored Mr Arthur Ross, for his visionary leadership in support of the United Nations. In the presence of UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, a published Tribute to Arthur Ross was presented to Mr Ross.
