In November 2006 the first official WFUNA Youth Meeting was held parallel to the 38th WFUNA Plenary Assembly in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This time, more than 25 youth representatives convened in order to finalise the structure of WFUNA-youth, to further elaborate its tasks and jointly work on project ideas . The WFUNA-youth Interim Authority was replaced by the Coordinating Committee (coordinating.committee@gmail.com) mandated to coordinate the activities of WFUNA-youth for a period of three years.

Aims

WFUNA-Youth aims to gain more support for the spirit of the United Nations among young people, as well as to further the world-wide activities of United Nations Youth Associations and UNA Youth Programs. It seeks to promote the establishment of United Nations Youth Associations or Youth Programs where they do not exist.

Membership

Membership to WFUNA-Youth is open to all UNYAs which are accredited through their national UNAs. In countries where no UNYAs exist, membership is open to the UNAs themselves on the basis of their Youth Programs and youth-related activities.
