About Partnership
WFUNA and the Asia-Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect are currently collaborating to develop valuable ways of promoting R2P within the Asia-Pacific region throughout our joint networks.
WFUNA actively collaborates with the national United Nations Associations around the globe, which are our core constituents. We work together with the United Nations’ civil society organizations, governments, philanthropies, universities and companies. Members of our team serve on various committees and advisory groups of leading nonprofit organizations, government agencies and the United Nations.
The Asia-Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect's mission is to advance the Responsibility to Protect principle within the Asia-Pacific Region and worldwide, and support the building of capacity to protect populations from genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity.

Responsibility to Protect - mobilizing public and political will (link)
BluWorld provides global e-mail accounts, educational content, employment needs, entrepreneurship, networking, story / experience sharing, mentoring and volunteering opportunities to youth and others who are coming online in developing countries.
WFUNA is on the Advisory Board of BluWorld.
The Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations (CoNGO) is an independent, international, non-profit membership association of non-governmental organizations (NGOs). It facilitates the participation of NGOs in United Nations debates and decision-making.
WFUNA is the Secretary of the CoNGO Board of Directors.
WFUNA leadership meets regularly with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and his Executive Office and collaborates on specific issues.
Global Action to Prevent War is an emerging transnational network dedicated to practical measures for reducing global levels of conflict and to removing the institutional and ideological impediments to ending armed conflict and severe human rights violations.
WFUNA and Global Action have primarily been collaborating in the context of our work on the Responsibility to Protect.

The World Federalist Movement (WFM) is an international citizen's movement working for justice, peace, and sustainable prosperity. The Institute for Global Policy (IGP) was founded in 1983 by four WFM leaders as the research and policy analysis arm of the World Federalist Movement.
WFUNA is a member of the ICRtoP. We meet regularly to exchange information and collaborate on ways to increase the role of civil society in advocating for and advancing the R2P norm.
Korea University (KU), founded in 1905, is widely acknowledged as one of the oldest, largest and top-ranked universities in Korea. Its reputation for quality is based on excellence in teaching, research and service to Korean society.
Together with UNA-USA (www.unausa.org) and Korea University, WFUNA is a partner for the publication “A Global Agenda”
The Executive Committee of Non-Governmental Organizations Associated with the United Nations Department of Public Information (NGO/DPI Executive Committee) acts as a liaison between the NGO community and DPI in connection with the provision of services, the production of materials, the use of UN facilities and all other matters that meet the information-related needs of NGOs associated with the UN.
WFUNA is an Ex-Officio member of the NGO/DPI Executive Committee.

As the public voice of the United Nations, DPI promotes global awareness and greater understanding of the work of the United Nations, using various communication tools including radio, television, print, the Internet, videoconferencing and increasingly other new information technology.
WFUNA has been a partner forthe annual Global MUN(GMUN) conference. WFUNA collaborates with UN Information Centres (UNICs) around the world to support UNAs as well as to establish new UNAs. WFUNA representatives attend the DPI/NGO conference each year. WFUNA has regular meetings withUnder-Secretary-GeneralKiyotaka Akasaka and Directorsof DPI Departments including Education Outreach, NGO Relations and the Strategic Communications Division.
Global Model UN, collaboration with UN Information Centres in the field, DPI/NGO activities
The Global Compact is a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
Discussions are ongoing on shared priorities and possibilities for collaboration. WFUNA has been represented at Global Compact events such as the Global Compact Leaders Summit.
UN-NGLS is an inter-agency programme of the United Nations mandated to promote and develop constructive relations between the United Nations and civil society organizations.
WFUNA and NGLS developed a joint proposal for running “Civil Society Training Courses at the United Nations”and are currently fundraising to be able to implement this program.

UNFPA is an international development agency that promotes the right of every woman, man and child to enjoy a life of health and equal opportunity.
UNFPA provided WFUNA with financial support for publishing “Youth at the UN: A Handbook for Establishing a National Youth Delegate program to the United Nations”. WFUNA participates in meetings of the UNFPA Global Youth Advisory Panel.

The World Federalist Movement-Institute for Global Policy (WFM-IGP) has launched a project called Responsibility to Protect - Civil Society (R2P-CS) It aims to deepen the debate within various sectors of the international community about the findings of the report of the International Commission on Intervention and State Sovereignty called "The Responsibility to Protect", and related documents on preventing conflicts and protecting civilians. It aims to promote international norms around the obligation of governments, in particular through the United Nations, to respond earlier and more effectively to emerging crises such as a potential genocide. The project seeks to deepen civil society involvement in ensuring that governments fulfill this obligation. For more information, please visit the R2P page.
