WFUNA's President, Secretary-General and staff attended the 66th UN DPI NGO Conference in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea from May 30-June 1. The conference's theme was “Education for Global Citizenship: Achieving the SDGs Together” and drew 2500 participants from around the world.

Monday - The UN and Multilateralism

On our first day of Advanced Training Program at the UN, Naïs Mouret, our Training and Education Fellow, introduced WFUNA and its work to our group of 16 Chinese students. This introductory session was followed by a briefing on the UN system presented by Jana Bauerova, Perception Change Project Officer, from the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG).

Monday - Introduction to the UN

The week started off with Naïs Mouret welcoming the participants with an introduction of the training, WFUNA, and the UN as a whole. Naïs continued to conduct an interactive session “Global Citizens: Who are we?”.

Twenty-four participants have been selected by our Korean partner, Hope to the Future Association (HFA) and twenty-two participants by our Chinese University partner, the Research Centre of United Nations and International Organizations (RCUNIO).

NEW YORK – For three straight weeks in July and August, we welcomed education partners for both the Training Program and the Advanced Training Program at the United Nations. Students took part in sessions from UN officials, diplomats, and representatives from civil society. In addition, participants learned skills in project management, public speaking, problem solving, and critical thinking.

From 18-22 August, WFUNA had the pleasure of welcoming 21 remarkable Chinese students to our "Advanced Training at the UN: China" Program, organized in cooperation with the Research Centre of United Nations and International Organizations (RCUNIO). For 5 days, participants had the opportunity to get to know better the UN in Geneva and its work around the issues of Technology, sustainable Development, Trade and Humanitarian Affairs.
