SEOUL - WFUNA's President, Amb. Park Soo Gil, and Secretary-General Bonian Golmohammadi participated in the 2012 Trilateral Presidents Meeting of UNA-ROK, UNA-China, and UNA-Japan, held in Seoul, Korea, on 18-21 September. Hosted by UNA-ROK, this is the third annual Trilateral Presidents meeting, whereby UNA leadership discussed the theme of "International Peace and the Role of the United Nations: Possible Influence of the Common Culture and Tradition on the Activities of the Three Countries at the United Nations."

The Executive Committee of the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA), elected by non-partisan civil society organizations in over 110 countries, is deeply concerned over the grave loss of life in Syria and expresses solidarity with the citizens of Syria who are confronting daily atrocities.

NEW YORK - WFUNA held its 203rd Executive Committee Meeting in New York on 7-8 September, 2012, with the following twelve United Nations Associations represented, including President of WFUNA, Amb. Park Soo Gil; Chair of the Executive Committee, Ms. Kathryn White of UNA-Canada; Treasurer of WFUNA, Mr. Sundeep Bhutoria of UNA-India; and Vice-Chair, Mr. Alexei Borisov of UNA-Russia: Norway, Finland, the United Kingdom, the United States, South Africa, Sweden, China, South Korea, and Venezuela.

NEW YORK - From 9 – 11 August, WFUNA’s Youth Seminar on the MDGs for youth representatives of United Nations Associations (UNAs) took place in New York. In this seminar, WFUNA hosted 11 members from nine United Nations Associations. The participants in the seminar were members from the following UNAs: Brazil, Malaysia, Mexico, Republic of Korea, Suriname, Tanzania, United Kingdom, United States, and Nepal.

Today WFUNA staff met with students from UNA Russia, who are currently in Geneva for a week-long study trip at the UN. During the study trip the students have listened to presentations of staff from various UN bodies, including OHCHR, WHO and UNICEF, and observed a session of the UN Conference on Disarmament.
