INDIA - Ms. Gillian Sorensen, Senior Advisor to the UN Foundation and member of the Friends of WFUNA, gave an interactive lecture to the membership of the Indian Federation of United Nations Associations (IFUNA) on the "UN and the 21st Century: Where Do We Go From Here?" on 19 January 2013. The audience included research scholars, students, journalists, and IFUNA general membership.

SOUTH KOREA - WFUNA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kyunghee University, to launch a two-week camp program in Summer 2013. The camp will invite experienced Model UN and Parliamentary Debate trainers from around the world to teach participants in building a better understanding of the UN system. Students are expected to gain practical skill sets in diplomacy, public speaking, and debate through the completion of this program.

On Monday, 19 November 2012, the Friends of WFUNA hosted their 19th Board of Directors meeting. WFUNA's Secretary-General, Mr. Bonian Golmohammadi, was present along with a significant number of the members of the Board. Established in 2001 by Mr. Arthur Ross, the Friends of WFUNA is an independent 501 (c) (3) organization. The Board has donated generous contributions and has provided guided support in helping WFUNA to further its mission and goals.

The World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) and its member associations represented at the 40th WFUNA Plenary Assembly in November 2012 in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, adopt this Declaration and commend it to the Member States of the United Nations and to the peoples of the world.
