WFUNA Participates in 3rd Trilateral Meeting of UNA-ROK, UNA-China and UNA-Japan

SEOUL – WFUNA’s President, Amb. Park Soo Gil, and Secretary-General Bonian Golmohammadi participated in the 2012 Trilateral Presidents Meeting of UNA-ROK, UNA-China, and UNA-Japan, held in Seoul, Korea, on 18-21 September. Hosted by UNA-ROK, this is the third annual Trilateral Presidents meeting, whereby UNA leadership discussed the theme of “International Peace and the Role of the United Nations: Possible Influence of the Common Culture and Tradition on the Activities of the Three Countries at the United Nations.”

Participants from the three UNAs included the following delegates from UNA-ROK, Amb. Sun Joun-young, Vice-President and CEO of UNA-ROK; Mr. Kim Young-hie, Vice-President of UNA-ROK; and Prof. Park Heung-soon, Vice-President of UNA-ROK; from UNA-China Amb. Chen Jian, President of UNA-China; Ms. Zhang Xiaoan, Vice-President and Director-General of UNA-China; and Mr. Wu Bin, Program Officer of UNA-China; from UNA-Japan, Dr. Sen Genshitsu, President of UNA-Japan; Amb. Akashi Yasushi, Vice-President of UNA-Japan; Prof. Tatsuro Kunugi, Board Member of UNA-Japan; and Mr. Ito Yoshiro, Board Member of UNA-Japan. In addition, Amb. Cho Chang-Beom, Advisor of the President of WFUNA, also attended the meeting.

The participants concluded the meeting with a statement and then gave opening addresses to the students at the Opening Ceremony of the 3rd Annual Trilateral Youth Forum, held at Kyunghee University.
