About Contributor
WFUNA thanks Arthur and Janet Ross for their continued support of our work. Mr. Ross, an American investment manager and philanthropist, founded the Friends of WFUNA in 2001 and was a key supporter of WFUNA in the years following. In 2007, Mr. Ross bequeathed a generous endowment to WFUNA. Mrs. Ross continues to be a supporter and friend of the organization.
In August 2009, a private tree planting ceremony was held at Namsan Park where a Korean Pine was dedicated to the memory of Mr. Ross. Stemming from his professional background in the pulp and paper business, Mr. Ross had a passion for evergreens and began the Arthur Ross Pinetum in Central Park in the 1970s. Covering over four acres in the northwest area of the park, the Arthur Ross Pinetum is a sanctuary for New Yorkers and visitors alike.
